Hello! So you want to know more about me, huh? Well I can tell you that I am a happily married twenty-something living in Syracuse, NY with a passion for traveling and seeing the world, but a limited budget to do so. So far in my life I’ve been lucky enough to have some amazing experiences around the world, and I want to continue to do so as much as humanly possible. I am currently working as an International Student Advisor at a private university – a job I love. I get to meet students from all over the world and learn more than I could have ever imagined. The stories and knowledge feed my craving to travel and experience their cultures. Through this blog, I hope to be able to share some of my experiences, both locally and afar, with you. And in the process, maybe you will be inspired to travel the world too. You don’t need a huge bank account, just a huge imagination.
The inspiration for this project comes from a lecture I attended on March 6th, 2017 at Syracuse University. Brandon Stanton, creator of Humans of New York, gave a talk about how he got where he is today. For years I’d been wanting to find a way to make my hobbies into something more, something that could impact other people’s lives. When Brandon talked about the importance of using your time wisely and pursuing your dreams, it finally hit home for me. So I’ve decided to start this blog and see where it goes. Maybe it will inspire somebody to take a life-changing journey; maybe it will introduce new cultures to a young child; maybe it will show you another side of something in your own backyard. Whatever this blog accomplishes and wherever it leads me down my path, I look forward to it all.
